Chopta Auli Trip From Haridwar

Chopta Auli Trip Summary

The story of my Chopta Auli trip was beautiful yet simple. It started with a journey to the shimmering Chopta, followed by sightseeing and camping. We then proceeded to Auli: a ski paradise. After skiing, we returned home, hearts filled with treasured memories.

Title: A Journey to the Himalayas: The Chopta Auli 6-day Adventure from Haridwar

Day 1: Gates of Haridwar
Our journey kicked off from the bustling city of Haridwar, vibrant with the exciting anticipation of the folks around. Surrounded by the mighty hills of Uttarakhand, the first day was spent wandering around the city. We visited the renowned Har-ki-Pauri ghat, witnessed the mesmerizing Ganges aarti and meandered through the enchanting local markets harboring an air of spirituality.

Day 2: Into the Hills: Drive to Joshimath
Day two started with the sun rising over Haridwar, painting the sky a vivid orange. The journey north began, winding up through dramatic, steep mountainscapes and past small dwellings that dotted the dramatic panorama. The 8-hour scenic drive to Joshimath was filled with countless frames of natural beauty that left us in awe, marking the real beginning of our Chopta Auli tour. By night, the twinkling lights of Joshimath welcomed us, nestled in the lap of the Himalayas.

Day 3: Skiing in Auli
Day three, Auli welcomed us with its icy breath – the whole region blanketed in a layer of pure, white snow – pristine and perfect. Famous for its ski slopes, Auli was a winter wonderland. We spent the day skiing down the soft snow as the cold wind whipped at our faces before retiring to our cozy lodgings, sharing stories over warm cups of chai.

Day 4: Treks Unseen: Auli to Chopta
Day four called for a change of scenery as we moved from the ski-heaven of Auli to the trekker’s paradise of Chopta, known for its rolling meadows. We shifted gears from skiing to trekking, and hiked through dense forests, guided by the chirps and chatters of the unnamed birds. The sight of Chopta against the setting sun was enchantingly beautiful, leaving an unforgettable imprint on our hearts.

Day 5: Ascent to Tungnath, the Highest Shiva Temple
Day five led us to Tungnath – at 12,073 feet, the highest Shiva temple in the world. It was a strenuous climb, laced with the kind of icy breeze that can seep into your bones. But on reaching the top, any strains of the journey were forgotten. The panoramic view of the lofty Himalayas was a sight to behold – an unending stretch of majesty and serenity.

Day 6: Homeward Bound
Day six came too soon, marking the end of our Chopta Auli trip. We drove back to Haridwar, the road unraveling like a film reel, reliving the memories of the past few days. The Himalayas, serene and grandeur as always, bid us farewell. Leaving the mountains behind, we kept their memories in our hearts, promising ourselves another trip to the abode of the gods.
Our six-day journey from Haridwar to Chopta and Auli recalled the beauty of nature in its purest form. Every place we’d been, every sight we’d seen, served as a gentle reminder of the tiny space we occupy in this grand world. It was a journey of discovery, adventure, and camaraderie – a reminder that life, like our trip, is a journey, not a destination.
